Sharing! Warning: political rant

...Because I'm so damn tired of the Republicrat Demopublican Party.  This nation will fall apart if they stay in power.  We have three choices:
1.)  Stand by an watch this unprecedented acceleration of a corrupt government stealing our rights and our resources, which will lead to...
2.)  Armed rebellion.  Don't kid yourself; has anyone alive seen this nation as out of control as it is now?  We. Are. In. Uncharted. Territory.
3.)  Stop violating the Constitution and vote the incumbents out of office.

No matter what your party tells you about that bogeyman called "the other guy," your party is the exact same thing.  Your party is the bogeyman.  Nothing is going to get better while the bogeyman is in power.  If you don't take your nation back, someone else will take it over.  That someone will be a mutant form of the current bogeyman.

I personally take issue with Paul's views on abortion laws, but even that is no longer as important as breaking up the government's deathgrip on it's own corruption.  As far as I'm concerned, we can no longer afford the luxury of partisan issues.  We can sort that shit out later.  It's us against Washington.  Period.

The Rabid Independent has spoken.

  1. I agree that things are scary bad. And Obama is only the worst of a long line of idiots. It's not all his fault, but he has certainly made things worse.

I've been a Libertarian for a long time. I think many people are, although they've not actually figured that out.

From a historic standpoint, we definitely are living in interesting times.

A couple of years ago when I was still a leukwarm moderate Democrat, I was talking to my SIL, and she said,"You sound like a Libertarian."

Darn close. If I ever have to claim a party again, that will be the one.

  3. I'm still a Democrat -- the extremely liberal kind. Don't hate me.

  6. It's time some changes were made...how about a "common sense" party?

  7. There is one new thing in this brew, right here, these blogs - the Internet. Michelle Malkin is always talking about the disinfecting power of sunlight. Those of us who bother to learn have the ability to turn on that sunlight. Maybe just a small and weak ray, to be sure, but there are a lot of us.

The problem is the graft, corruption, lust for power and plain selfishness. We must keep on hollering.

  8. All I can say is we only have two parties. If the country tries to vote in an Independent it will assure Obama another 4 years. I do believe that if the GOP can take control of the Senate the country will start to rebound. We have no other choice than to vote for who ever is running. Any other vote IS WASTED.

  9. Coffeypot, do you ever wonder how many people said the same thing about that nutty new "Republican" party, led by that crazy reforming Abraham Lincoln? I think this country is divided as much now as it was then. Either current party means more of the same, with very few variations on who gets the loot. Neither is more that a hairsbreadth better than the other. We need another Lincoln.

  10. Thank you. Truly appreciated. I gotta be me, but I have very low approval ratings as a result. Better to pretend to be something else, like a rat.

  11. After watching the debate tonight, and yes I am a conservative Republican, I have to say that Ron Paul scares the ever loving shit outta me. And you are right when you state that our country is in uncharted territory and somethings gotta happen. The progressives, IMHO, are trampling the very constitution and ideals the country was founded on. I can't sit by and let that happen, so whomever ends up the GOP candidate, I am voting for. Period. I hope to God it's the one that can beat Obama

  12. I'd consider voting GOP if they would run a conservative candidate. I really am a moderate, but the big-government "left" is so out of control that it makes me look like a rightie. We do need conservatism in the government - fiscal conservatism and Constitutional conservatism, not just the "liberal" applications of "conservative" values. Romney's not so much a moderate as he is an inveterate panderer. I'll write in Mickey Mouse before I'll vote for him or Obama. I'm going to vote anti-incumbent in every race.
