Remember, folks: whenever a woman says "die for me because you are a man," just look her in the eye and say "my body, my choice."

Just Among Us Gals
Menopause runs early in my family, and I've been in the "peri-" stage for about 8 years. Up til now it has not been a big deal, but dang! For the past couple of months my so-what's-the-big-fuss-all-about hot flashes have suddenly evolved into little thermo-nuclear meltdowns!!! Lordy am I glad it's not summer!

Not hot flashes. POWER surges.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be done with the whole woman thing... certainly not going to have more babies.
Hope it settles down a bit for you.
(Peaking from around the doorjamb) Is it safe to come in the room?
ReplyDeleteI am so stupid that in spite of working in a clinic while I was going through menopause, I did not know what was happening to me. I was more than a little cranky, I cried at the drop of a hat, had hot flashes followed by chills, and night sweats that soaked the bed. It's been about nine years and I still have the night sweats occasionally. Maybe it's because I can't get the bedroom temperature exactly right. But, oh, darling, I feel for you. It is a difficult time. When I became interested in a man, I used the completion of menopause as one of my good points because he wouldn't have to go through my bitchiness with me. He doesn't like me anyway, but at least it's not because of hot flashes and unreasonably grouchiness. So, I don't know why I'm unwanted. I guess my boobs are too big.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola
LOLA, darling, it's not that you are unwanted...it's that he knows he doesn't deserve you. So he tried to make himself look good by not liking you. Dumb Fuck!
ReplyDeleteWrong guy. Find a better one to get interested in.
ReplyDeleteCoffey, Sometimes your brilliance astonishes me. I'm sure you are absolutely right. It's just such a shame that no one seems to deserve me, which leads to much loneliness for me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lola

ReplyDeleteGood lord. Wife will be going through this too soon.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, just dropped in to say you've been bookmarked and blogrolled.
and I promise to never, ever, ever comment on a thread about menopause again.
Ever
Really
Thanks for joining us, MSgt B!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my world!
ReplyDeleteI started having horrendous hot flashes at 42. I was in Macy's on Christmas eve when the first one hit me. Holy Hell, I wanted to kill someone.
So the perimenopausal stage lasted 8 years. (damn long)and finally when I was around 50 I got on some hormones to settle my moods. (Thank God for estrogen and progesterone!)
Good Luck Babe!
Every time I think I'm "done" my little red haired friend feels compelled to drop by. Ughhh..
ReplyDeleteI'd give you advice on this issue, but my testicles get in the way.
