Remember, folks: whenever a woman says "die for me because you are a man," just look her in the eye and say "my body, my choice."

A Little Follow-up

Weer'd posted this on his blog today.  I've been reading Massad Ayoob in "Backwoods Home" magazine, off and on for 20 years.  He had some kind words for Weer'd, and he posted a video that really makes the point.

  1. I'm sorry, but I don't think I really "get" this. If I had a gun or pepper spray or whatever, I'd be afraid that someone bigger and stronger would take it and use it on me. I don't want to bring more guns into the world.

  2. I understand your fears, and if you don't like guns, you absolutely shouldn't have them. The thing about someone taking one away from you, is that if you have a gun, you should be willing and able to use it before someone gets close enough to take it away.

What I love about this "campaign" is the overall message that legal gun owners are proactive, and that you are safer if your neighbors are armed whether you are or not. EVERY time a state loosens gun restrictions, violent crime goes down. Criminals don't want to be shot. This is the sick hypocrisy of the Brady Campaign - disarming the public puts the public in more danger. Lighting a candle for dead victims is a pretty gesture. Doing something to prevent more dead victims (if only yourself) is more than a gesture, it's self reliance.
