We don't "replace" our pets. That will never be possible. However, we have room in our home, our budget and our hearts for at least one dog that nobody else wants. We brought one home today.
Meet "Pooka," a young female beagle/dachshund mix, and our first ever "small dog."
.....and witness Scooter's world class stinkeye, when she met Pooka:
As yet, Lizzie isn't terribly pleased either, but a rather slow-moving seventeen pound pooch is hardly a threat. I anticipate a fairly peaceful transition.
Best of all, Pooka adores WolfAlpha.
That little dude is 17 years old? Unbelievable1
ReplyDeleteNo no! Seventeen pounds! She's only a year old. a Second dog (probably next spring...) might be an oldster, but I need at least one critter whose demise I won't have to ponder for a while.
DeleteOh, I see now. Reading too fast I guess. He is a cutie though.
DeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteMost excellent. Murphy approves of you giving another dog in need a home.
ReplyDeleteThe look on Scooter's face is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteOur last dog was a pound puppy... if we ever get another one, we will do the same... a dog that nobody wants.
Oh, and btw, Pooka is adorable. I would definitely like to scritch her behind the ears and assure her that she's a wonderful girl. :)
ReplyDeletePrecious! Love the facial expressions on the family "kids". LOL Pooka is soon to find out in your home, all animals are treated like royalty!
ReplyDeletePooka is darling. My sister just adopted an 18-month-old bichon. She goes for little dogs. I'm a big dog woman all the way. God bless you for taking Pooka into your heart.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Aww, cute puppy.
ReplyDeleteScooter is planning to stage a coup.
Aw! Congratulations! Pooka is a very fitting name as she does bear some resemblance to Winnie the Pooh!
ReplyDeleteIf looks could kill....
ReplyDeleteLook at that tongue! he looks like he can lick his own eyeballs! The girls are gonna LOVE him. Or is that "Bitches"? What a cool dog, I'm so happy for you!
